Two people were hospitalized after a vehicle crashed and fell off a cliff in the Angeles National Forest.

According to the Los Angeles County Fire Department, units responded to a report of a two-vehicle crash at 11:50 p.m. Sunday at mile marker 24 of San Gabriel Canyon Road.

A CHP spokesman confirmed the two-car accident, but could not say whether both vehicles involved went over the edge of the cliff.

Video from the scene obtained by KTLA shows rescue workers fighting through the undergrowth on the mountainside to reach one of the destroyed vehicles. One of the occupants was trapped and had to be extricated.

The two victims were transported by air and by ground to nearby hospitals. Their condition has not yet been announced. The cause of the crash is still being investigated.
