Zokir Kudratov is accused of stabbing his ex-wife to death during an argument on Saturday.

NAPERVILLE, IL — A Naperville man has been charged with two counts of first-degree murder in the death of his ex-wife. Zokir Kudratov, 55, of the 2500 block of Saddlebrook Drive, was arrested Sunday in connection with Saturday’s fatal stabbing.

On Saturday morning, police were called to the 2500 block of Saddlebrook Drive. When they arrived, they found that a woman, later identified as Kudratov’s ex-wife, had been stabbed to death. Police said Kudratov stabbed the woman “multiple times” with a knife, a news release said.

Her name was not published.

She was taken to a nearby hospital where she was pronounced dead shortly before 2 p.m.

“First and foremost, the entire Naperville Police Department would like to extend their sincere condolences to the victim’s family,” Police Chief Arres said in a statement.

Arres added, “To say that these incidents are among the most difficult and heartbreaking in police work would be an understatement. I commend our officers and investigators for their professionalism and diligence during this tragic situation. Thank you also to the Will County District Attorney’s Office for their support and advice during this incident.”

Kudratov is being held in the Will County Jail and is scheduled to appear in court on July 10.
