As you play The First Descendant, you will not only level up but also collect various items along the way, whether to complete quests or unlock new characters.

However, there is one particular item in the game that is causing difficulties for many: the amorphous material. Getting it is not really the problem, opening it is what most struggle with.

Below we’ll tell you exactly how to open amorphous material in The First Descendant so you can use this valuable object.

How to open The First Descendant Amorphous Material

For example, in The First Descendant, when you acquire amorphous material by completing Zone Recon missions or Special Operations, you’ll want to open it up to actually use it.

To open Amorphous Material, you will need to complete the Void Intercepts or Void Fusion Reactor missions, as defeating the boss at the end of these missions will allow you to use the required device.

This is the so-called reconstructed device and you can’t really miss it since it’s essentially a big floating ball. And since you’re at the end of the mission anyway, there’s not much you can do other than keep an eye out for it.

Once you interact with the reconstructed device, you’ll be presented with three options to choose from. Don’t accidentally choose the wrong one when chasing an item to unlock a specific character.

For example, if you want to unlock Bunny, you’ll need to select the Bunny pattern, which will grant you the Bunny Code – something brand new players might simply miss, and they might be stumped as to how to get this much-desired offspring.

And there you have it, you should be able to break open these amorphous materials with no problem now. Just make sure you use the reconstructed device before completing the mission!

Also, don’t forget to grab any Twitch Drops for The First Descendant or even beta rewards if you managed to get in on the early release.
