If comfort and style are what you value, look no further than Yamaha’s impressive touring motorcycle, the Star Venture. The downside is that you’ll need to find a used model, as production ceased in the early 2020s after the last attempt to bring it back to market in 2018.

In a 2018 review of the newly launched Star Venture “luxury touring motorcycle,” Motorcycle.com gave the big Yamaha high marks overall. The review highlighted the bike’s clutch, transmission, instruments, controls, comfort and ergonomics.

The base MSRP of the 2018 Yamaha Star Venture was $24,999, while the upscale Transcontinental trim cost $2,000 more. Power comes from a redesigned 1,854cc air-cooled V-twin with a six-speed transmission. The big V-twin makes 90 hp and 126 lb-ft of torque, which is sent to the rear wheel via Yamaha’s “Cush Drive” system, which is designed to smooth out the powerplant’s rough edges. One final note on the engine is its “semi-dry sump” design, which allows the bike to have a lower center of gravity.

While the V-twin makes it a breeze to get the 950-plus pound Star Venture up to cruising speed and keep it there, the amenities make riding more comfortable. The top-of-the-line Transcontinental package includes features like GPS navigation, dual-zone audio controls, fog lights and a security system. Standard features include adjustable items like floorboards, driver and passenger backrests and windshield height. Of course, it also has a trunk that fits two helmets and saddlebags big enough to carry a few changes of clothes for two people.
