OZARK, Alabama (WDHN) – A Brundidge man involved in a seven-year-old unsolved case has been remanded to Dale County Jail without a chance of bail.

Jarrett Rodgers was arrested on Wednesday, June 19, and charged with the 2018 murder of Cornelius Crittenden.

On June 24, Rodgers and his attorneys appeared before Dale County District Judge Stanley Garner for an Aniah’s Law hearing to request bail. After the hearing, Judge Garner issued an order denying Rodgers bail, according to Garner’s office.

According to Ozark police, Rodgers was named the prime suspect in Crittenden’s murder after the agency reopened the case seven years ago and began investigating, gathering new evidence and interviewing people connected to the case.

Deputy Chief Micheal Bryan said Crittendon was shot during a robbery at his Ozark Estates apartment and was found dead by a neighbor early on the morning of May 7.

Crittendon’s sister told WDHN that her brother and Rodgers did not know each other.
