It doesn’t take long for the allegations against Jenn Tran’s season of The Bachelorette.

In an exclusive PEOPLE clip from the July 8 premiere of The BacheloretteJenn’s admirer Aaron Erb, the twin brother of Bachelor in Paradise Star Noah Erb suggests that “not all the guys are here for the right reasons.”

This prompts 26-year-old Jenn to ask the group, “Are you here because this is a TV show?”

After Joey Graziadeis was eliminated in week seven Bachelor In Season 2, Jenn hopes to find her forever when she joins the series as the first Asian-American lead. But the medical student becomes increasingly suspicious when another man, Sam N., declares during a group date, “Jenn, I’m already falling in love with you.”

“How can you love me if you don’t really know me?” asks Jenn.

At the end of the preview, Jenn begins to question whether she will go with her soulmate. “Maybe I’m not meant to find someone,” she wonders.

After Jesse Palmer announced Jenn as the Bachelorette during the finale for 29-year-old Joey in March, she raved on social media about how “surreal” it felt to take on the role.

“You have no idea how much this moment means to me,” Jenn wrote. “Growing up, I never saw anyone on television who looked like me telling their own love story. I’m so grateful to have been able to inspire a generation of people to be proud of their culture. This opportunity to find love as the Bachelorette is so much bigger than myself and I embrace it wholeheartedly.”

Fans thought Daisy Kent or Maria Georgas could be called Bachelorette, but Jenn said in the last episode of Call her daddy Podcast that “there are a lot of narratives out there and they don’t necessarily reflect the truth.”

“There are multiple people interviewing or having meetings about the whole thing, doing fittings or filming introductory packages, and you’re never really yourself until you are,” Jenn explained.

She also stressed that the production did not only consider her as a bachelorette after Daisy (25) and Maria (29) turned down the opportunity.

“They asked me and I had the choice and I chose to do it,” Jenn told host Alex Cooper. “I said yes. The thing about the narrative that’s starting now is that it was disappointing to come back from this incredible journey for myself and then see all the speculation around it and have those things almost kind of detract from what my journey was.”

Unlike previous seasons, Jenn’s journey begins at the Hummingbird Nest Ranch in Santa Susana, California, instead of Bachelor Villa.

“I think a new mansion is the perfect way to break out of the mold,” she said Entertainment tonight. “I’m going to bless it with some really good vibrations.”
