Ralph and Hale are both Emmy winners. Ralph won for her supporting role in Abbott Elementary School in 2022, making her the first black actress to win in this category since Jackée Harry for 227 35 years ago. Hale won two Emmys (2013 and 2015) for his supporting role in Veep and a third in 2023 for his leading role in The mysterious Benedict Society on Disney+.

Television Academy Chairman Cris Abrego will attend the nominations ceremony alongside Hale and Ralph. “While this year has been marked by significant challenges for our industry and its people, there has been an abundance of remarkable programs, extraordinary performances and powerful stories,” Abrego said in a statement.

The 76th Emmy Awards will air live on both coasts on ABC on Sunday, September 15 (8:00-11:00 p.m. ET/5:00-8:00 p.m. PT) – just eight months after the strike-related delay of the 75th Emmy Awards, which were due to be presented on January 15.

No host has been announced for the upcoming ceremony, but Jimmy Kimmel hosted the show for the last three broadcasts on ABC (2012, 2016 and 2020). The Primetime Emmys are broadcast alternately on the three traditional networks (ABC, CBS and NBC) as well as Fox.
