1-MONTH ALERT: World of Outlaws returns to New York for a Sunday Night Special at Weedsport Speedway

The World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series is expected to fill every seat at Weedsport Speedway when it returns to the fan-favorite New York track for another Empire State Challenge on Sunday, July 28.

It will be The biggest show on Dirt’s 14th trip to Weedsport Speedway and only visit to the Empire State this year.

Northeastern native David Gravel earned his third series win at the 3/8-mile track last year, tying 10-time series champion Donny Schatz and 20-time series champion Steve Kinser for the most wins at the dirt track, and his third consecutive year winning there.

Aside from Gravel and Schatz, all of the other World of Outlaws stars are aiming for their first Weedsport win this year.

To accomplish that feat, they’ll also have to compete against some of New York’s best. Super DIRT Week champion Larry Wight of Phoenix, NY, has competed in the series’ last five events at Weedsport, earning three top-10 finishes – including his seventh-place finish last year.

Several of the Empire Super Sprint Tour’s top riders will also be in action, including Shawn Donath, who is currently battling for the 2024 ESS title, and Danny Varin, who started from pole at last year’s World of Outlaws event and battled for the lead on Gravel for the first half of the race.

Joining the World of Outlaws are DIRTcar Big Block Modifieds, which host a 50-lap race featuring the series’ biggest names such as Matt Sheppard, Jimmy Phelps, Tim Sears Jr., Wight and others.
