The annual Celebrate Damascus weekend will be held Friday, July 12th and Saturday, July 13th and will include a car show, parade and fireworks. This year’s celebration theme is “Summer Fun.” All details below are courtesy of Montgomery County:

“The parade begins at 7 p.m. and travels north on Route 27 from Damascus High School to Lewis Drive and ends at the Damascus Volunteer Fire Department activity center in Lewis.

The volunteer fire department will have food for sale at the event site. Chicken dinners will be available from 4:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

On Saturday, July 13, activities by businesses and organizations will take place throughout Damascus. The Volunteer Fire Department will hold an open day and offer tours of the facility and the equipment used there.

The fourth annual Cruise-In car show will be held Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Carquest Auto Parts lot, 9930 Main St.

The Lion’s Club will host a flea market on the grounds of Damascus United Methodist Church from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. There will also be children’s activities, a bouncy castle, food trucks and a performance by the Market Street Big Band from noon to 2 p.m.

The Damascus Heritage Museum is open on Saturdays from 10am to 4pm.

Free trams transport people from various points along the festival grounds.

The alternative date for the fireworks is Saturday, July 13th.
